Food delivery apps, Lily, reading, comfy clothes
Chores, bland food, leaving her house
Maisie is the daughter of the Crow CEO and as a result, has no idea how society actually works. Despite everything, as a child she had extreme difficulty learning. Eventually, her father gave up on getting her tutors or sending her to school. Instead, she mostly taught herself to read by reading news articles about her family's company.
After a disasterous stint as a Crow intern, it was unofficially determined she wasn't smart enough to work for (and eventually inherit) the company like planned. Instead, she's holed away in an apartment paid for by her family, spending all day online. She spends a lot of time leaving incoherent angry comments on news articles that criticise Crow. Secretly, she hopes she can still make up for her mistakes and gain her father's approval.
She hasn't been outside in a while, until she's forced to when she runs out of food. It's then that she encounters Lily on the side of the road, unconcious with no memory of what happened to her. Maisie manages to rescue Lily, but unfortunately for Maisie, this is only when the problems begin.
I made her up for an English class about 5 years ago at this point. We had to brainstorm character names or something. That task didn't really end up going anywhere, but I liked the name I made up I guess lol.
She and Lily used to be part of a different story set in a hospital in the near future. That story had good ideas, but I could never finish it. I was still pretty attached to it though.
One day I got a media studies assignment that involved having to write an idea for a TV show. I decided to just take Lily and Maisie out of that story, and write something of an AU for them that would be the assignment. Somehow, I got even more attached to this version of the story. and that's how Maisie's current character came to be!
She tends to act on her emotions rather than common sense. She isn't really stupid, just very sheltered.
However, people calling her stupid is an extreme sore spot for her. She hates (in person) conflict, but will react agressively if her intelligence is insulted.
Her reluctance to go outside is due to paranoia from reading too many news articles.
Her mom is a photographer and she hasn't seen her in many years
She wants to learn Mandarin and Shanghainese (her mom's native languages) but has no motivation
