There is no deep motivation behind this page I just really like fast food (in moderation!!!!). However, not all fast food is created equal. On this page they will receive my extremely professional and esteemed judgement.

Taco Bell

Order: quesadilla, fries

Notes: I enjoyed how the beef, cheese and sauce went together. The cheese really made it in my opinion. It's that classic garbage fast food cheese flavour which sounds like I'm saying it's bad. However, in my opinion this is exactly what you want from a fast food item. I can't remember exactly what I thought of the fries but looking back at discord messages I apparently thought they were "nice". I would definitely order this again, especially since I think the portion was surprisingly large. Although, I'm not sure how willing I would be to order other items off the menu. I don't think UK Taco Bells (Or maybe all Taco Bells in general?) offer a lot of choice.

Jollibee

Order: spaghetti

Notes: I ordered this just for the sheer novelty of getting spaghetti at a fast food place. Very impressed. The spaghetti is sweet like they say on the menu, and doesn't taste much like other spaghetti I've tasted. This specific meal doesn't come with fries but this was fine since the spaghetti was very filling and was pretty much the ideal portion size for me. I would like to try the chicken options next time since I've heard good things.

Wendy's

Order: Dave's single, fries

Notes: Extremely impressed. felt more like a pub burger as opposed to something like McD*nald's. Although this was reflected in the price (expensive). I liked the tomato and dressing in the burger especially. There was a lot crammed into the bun which made it a bit more challenging to eat. This was the only drawback though. I can't remember much about the fries but I know I liked them.

Popeyes

Order: chicken sandwich, fries

Notes: Fairly bland (I did not order the spicy option). The bun itself was nice and the chicken had a nice texture but it didn't taste of much. The gherkins were a confusing choice since they just tasted like cucumber as opposed to vinegary/salty (you know, how gherkins normally taste?). I'm normally fine with gherkins, but I would have preferred something like tomato in this instance. The fries were really good though and were well seasoned. I want to return and try the chicken by itself, but I can't imagine ordering a sandwich again.

Greggs

Order: Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt

Notes: You literally cannot go wrong with Greggs. Extremely cheap but filling and yummy! It beats something like Pret in terms of taste and price everytime. I'm not in the UK as of writing this and I miss Greggs so much.

Raising Canes

Order: 3 finger combo

Notes: I tried walking around a mall after eating this and I actually thought I was going to die.

Shake Shack

Order: Shake burger, fries, sprite

Notes: I hate that I enjoyed this so much because it was like $15 which seems kind of insane to me for fast food. The first time I didn't get the fries (to try and save money!!!) and I should have got a bigger burger or just got the fries cause I didn’t feel full after. Anyway, the second time I got plain fries which aren't anything special but I preferred them to Mcd*nald's fries. The burger itself was so good and probably my favourite fast food burger I've tried. Living right next to the Shake Shack was a pain because I had to constantly convince myself not to go there when I didn't want to cook.

Five Guys

Order: Little burger, small fries

Notes: I guess you kind of get good value for money here since toppings are free which I respect, but also I'm so confused about the portion sizes (too big). Also the fries were ok I guess but the cup was way too small and it exploded in my bag and got grease everywhere and tbh I'm still bitter about this.

Carl Jr.'s

Order: Little burger, small fries

Notes: This kind of tasted like a slightly worse Shake burger to me, but this is notably $5 cheaper and bigger. It also gave me much needed energy after spending a whole morning walking around Walmart (the true American experience). Sadly, it had the issue where it started completely fall apart as I ate it which is always just embarasssing and makes the eating experience a bit unpleasant. I appreciate the commitment to value for money by stuffing a burger with a bunch of stuff but maybe using a wider bun might prevent fallout?

KFC

Order: Mac and cheese chicken wrap

Notes: This sounds like a blandness nightmare but actually it was so good. Maybe this is because I'd only been eating the cheapest box mac and cheese up until this point, so anything above that was an improvement. Despite that, I feel like something about this just worked. I lowkey can't stop thinking about it. Why isn't this on the menu in the UK??!!!
